Horn Law Obtains Max Settlement For Dentist Injured In Car Accident

A local dentist, who suffered neck and arm injuries in a 2012 car accident, has received an award of over $450,000. Attorneys Doug Horn and Laurie Del Percio disclosed that the case was recently settled after a year-long litigation. “This was a particularly complex case as our client’s injuries forced him to retire from his dental practice. He was a very skilled dentist and, due to his injuries, he did not feel he could deliver the same professional dental service that his patients were used to”, said Horn.

Over the years Horn Law has concentrated in motor vehicle accident cases involving head, neck, and back injuries. Often these types of injuries have a devastating effect on people’s lives, particularly when the injuries cause an interference in their work and result in lost income. Attorney Laurie Del Percio, who is Horn Law’s Lead Litigation Attorney, emphasized that because injury victims are generally only entitled to one recovery, her law firm has a high responsibility to maximize the client’s settlement by recovering both short and longer term damages.

“While most people expect their car repairs, medical bills and lost income to be covered after an accident, it is not a fair recovery until we account for all damages. Loss of health, mobility, quality of life, and future income loss all must be part of a settlement package”, Del Percio noted.

Headquartered in Independence, Horn Law handles personal injury and wrongful death cases throughout Missouri and Kansas. The above case is of public record and the firm expects the case to be reported in the Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
