Track Record of Success
In dedicating his career to representing injured persons, Horn has a track record of success in a wide variety of personal injury cases in Missouri, Kansas, and throughout the Midwest. Published here, the track record contains brief descriptions of some of Horn Law’s more notable cases and results.
As in all cases Horn handles, the objective is always to obtain the best possible legal recovery. Listed below are the steps Horn takes in every case to maximize client settlements and awards.
1. Handling the Immediate Issues
Right from the start, Horn takes care of the important investigative, legal, insurance, medical, and financial issues that require prompt action, including establishing insurance coverages, handling the insurance company claim adjusters, and providing evidence for the proper setting of insurance claims reserves.
2. Establishing Liability
Because the foundation of the legal recovery rests on proving fault and liability, among Horn’s first priorities is to establish liability against all individuals and entities that have full or contributory fault for causing his client’s injuries or death, including proof of negligent, careless, or reckless conduct.
3. Securing the Important Medical Evidence
In personal injury claims, the best results depend upon the presentation of the medical evidence. In this regard, Horn has over 30 years of experience working with physicians, specialists, and other medical experts in establishing the medical proof necessary to ensure his clients are fully compensated for all past, present, continuing, and future effects of their traumatic injuries.
4. Proving Damages
Proving an injured person’s full scope of damages, including medical expenses, loss of income, pain, suffering, physical restrictions, loss of household services, and the long-term effects of a traumatic injury, are the foundation to obtaining a maximum settlement or award legal recovery.
Documented proof of non-economic damages, including continuing loss of health and loss of quality of life, are often the difference between an average settlement and a maximum recovery.
5. Advanced Negotiations
With decades of legal experience in personal injury claims, Horn is skilled in all levels of advanced negotiations, including settlement conferences, mediation, and litigation.
Advancing Driver Safety
During the course of his legal career, which includes participating in hundreds of motor vehicle accident investigations, Horn has gained elevated insights into the driving behaviors that cause vehicular collisions.
Horn has used this legal experience to devote a significant amount of work to the advancement of driver safety, particularly in the areas of teen driver protection, distracted driving prevention, and traffic fatality reduction.
In regard to teen driver safety, Horn has developed Drive By Example, a comprehensive driving safety education program designed to help reduce the types of collisions that cause serious injury and traffic fatalities. The program, a perfect fit for high school age students, influences drivers to adopt the safe driving habits and behaviors that protect themselves, their passengers, and others on the roadway.
As a driver safety advocate, Horn is a frequent contributor to media outlets, including TV, radio, print, and online. He is also a regular speaker for schools, parent groups, and civic organizations.
