A Message from Attorney Doug Horn for Parents of Teen Drivers

Some years ago, as a parent of three teenagers, I was always reminding them to “be careful” as they set out with the car. Although I was pretty confident that they heard me, I wasn’t so sure that they actually understood how to be careful when driving.

That is the background on my I wrote the guidebook- Teen Driver Protection: Tips For Keeping Your Child Safe Behind The Wheel.

My goal with the guidebook was to equip parents with the ability to teach their young drivers to take a safe approach to driving- one that allows the new driver to protect themselves, their passengers, and others on the roadway.

The guidebook contains ten tips for parents and can be downloaded at no charge here. The tips have their origin in my Drive By Example driving safety program (DBE). The DBE program influences teen drivers to exercise the highest degree of care behind the wheel by always driving alert, buckled, cautious and defensive. That’s A, B, C, & D.

I know from my own experience that parents are key to protecting teen drivers. My hope is that this guidebook will not only help you reduce the risk of your child being involved in a motor vehicle collision but that you might also pass this book on to other parents who have a child new to driving.

Parents, working together, we can pave the way for a safer future on the roads for our young drivers, helping them model safe driving habits and behaviors that will last a lifetime. Explore our guidebook, stay informed and let us at Horn Law be your advocate in protecting teen drivers.

Sincerely,
